Hey, guys! First off, I need to come clean about some inauthenticities. I’ve been absent from tumblr for a couple of weeks, because I have been spending almost all of my free time studying for the SAT, which I’m taking next Saturday.
BUT, I love you all, so I’m squeezing in a post tonight. I want to talk about my visit to the Wildlife Learning Center in Sylmar today! The Wildlife Learning Center is almost like a small zoo, where their main purpose is to educate visitors about the animals with whom we share this planet with. Since that’s pretty much word for word exactly what I plan on doing with my life, I fit in perfectly.
And, the best part about it is that it’s only about 5 minutes away from home, so I will definitely be visiting pretty much every week. I’m really excited, because I didn’t know that there was a place like it so near. I’m also going to start volunteering at the center when I turn 16 (MARCH 19, 16 DAYS WOOT), so I’ll be spending a LOT of time there.
One thing that I plan on doing while I’m volunteering at the Wildlife Learning Center is that as I get to know each of the animals better, I’ll be writing blog posts on the different individual critters. Since many of them are rescues, and a few are injured or ill, I’ll also be posting plenty of updates.
AND expect some amazing photography of my new friends at the Center taken by my friend Gio. Goodnight, juicy folk! I leave you with a photo of a two-toed sloth, one of the animals that calls the Wildlife Learning Center its home. (photo courtesy of EternalSloth.tumblr.com)
If you guys are in the Los Angeles/ San Fernando Valley area, go visit the Wildlife Learning Center! They’re open every day of the week, from 11am-5pm
